Grants are sums of money given to help further the goals of small businesses or individuals. They can be awarded by government entities or private businesses. Unlike a loan, grants do not need to be repaid.
The STEM Action Grant program provides small grants of up to $5,000 to innovative nonprofit organizations led by social entrepreneurs. The Society aims to fund innovative nonprofit organizations that support community-based STEM projects, and whose work supports our mission of public engagement in scientific research and education. Since 2016, the Society has awarded $828,000 to 113 organizations wanting to improve access to STEM education.
