The Spurling Scholarship was established in 1984 to provide renewable support to residents of the Cranberry Isles; Frenchboro, Long Island; Swans Island; and Mount Desert Island pursuing post-secondary education at a college, community college, or vocational training program. Preference is given to applicants from unbridged islands with the greatest financial need.

This award is for U.S. high school seniors, college sophomores/juniors/seniors, and graduate students who are majoring in agriculture, botany, city planning, conservation, ecology, forestry, horticulture, landscape design/architecture, or a related field. The student must be a resident of Florida and attend a Florida college, and must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.


The Houzz Residential Construction Management Scholarship is available for U.S. students who are majoring in construction management and intending to pursue a career in residential construction. Applicants must submit an online application and create a Houzz student profile to be considered for this award.

Established in 2016, the Ramblers Scholarship supports student athletes pursuing an undergraduate education who self-identify publicly as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex (LGBTQI). This scholarship is available for student athletes who identify as LGBTQI or committed LGBTQI allies.
