Grants are sums of money given to help further the goals of small businesses or individuals. They can be awarded by government entities or private businesses. Unlike a loan, grants do not need to be repaid.
The Patterson Foundation Scholarship Program provides college scholarships of $4,750 each to children and legal dependents, age 24 and under, of full-time Patterson Companies employees in the U.S., U.K. and Canada. Renewable for up to four years, the Scholarship Program can provide as much as $19,000 for a full-time education at an accredited two- or four-year college or vocational/technical school. Students pursuing any course of study are encouraged to apply. An independent selection committee from Scholarship America, Inc. reviews the submitted applications and makes recommendations for awards each summer. Applying is easy and one in four applicants receive a scholarship.
