Grants are sums of money given to help further the goals of small businesses or individuals. They can be awarded by government entities or private businesses. Unlike a loan, grants do not need to be repaid.
The ARPA Small Business Permit Assistance Program has been allocated $250,000 in funding to pay up to $5,000 in City planning and building fees for qualified small businesses when opening a new business, expanding an existing business, or undertaking construction improvements to the interior or exterior of their current place of business. Program opened November 15, 2022. Applications accepted and approved on an ongoing basis for qualifying businesses, subject to funding availability.
